Hope Vale Showcase poster November 2009Stylin’ UP Regional is a vibrant community and cultural development program that engages and is driven by Indigenous young people, Elders and community members.

Linked into the Stylin’ UP Festival, an annual event coordinated by the Inala Elders and Brisbane City Council, the program is guided by the message of “pride in self, pride in community, pride in culture”. Stylin’ UP Regional provides a forum for young people to tell stories, share yarns with elders, celebrate indigenous identity and plays a role in building strong communities.

Stylin’ Up Regional is a vibrant community-driven cultural and creative arts program engaging Indigenous young people, Elders and community members.

For the past 4 years, the program has been working in collaboration with the communities of Cherbourg, Woorabinda, Hope Vale and Logan to develop workshop programs and initiatives reflecting community needs. The Gathering 09 described as “most successful” ever held

The event, coordinated and produced by Human Ventures, is an initiative of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (IYLP) and involved networking opportunities and leadership development sessions.

Do we really have a ‘Channel 10′ philosophy?

channel10Yesterday was a proud and historic moment for our nation.

As an Australian I was deeply humbled and proud to hear our Prime Minister say the words ‘we are sorry’.

It marked and symbolised a new beginning in our relationship with the Indigenous peoples of this land and a significant healing in the lives of many, many people.
