Creative Tracks held The Funding Network Leadership Camp from April 18-22 in beautiful Agnes Water with eight amazing young people being selected by their Woorabinda community to make the trip.
Across the five days, the attendees learned skills in digital storytelling ranging from stop-motion animation, film and photography, while giving thought to the topic of leadership and their individual future plans.
After spending days at the beach and behind a camera, the activities eventually culminated in the group creating their own short stories which can be viewed here.
The camp was a blast and left the attendees feeling inspired about both using new digital abilities and their roles as leaders within the community. Participants expressed their desire to build new stories of success and pass on this knowledge to younger members of their families and wider communities.
Special mention must go to Edgar, who after demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities and giving endless encouragement to his fellow participants was offered a role as trainee facilitator for the TFN leadership camps being planned for the Cherbourg and Logan communities. Edgar hopes to start his own business one day, but in the meantime wants to mentor the young people around him to stay on the right path and chase after their goals.
