On 16 November 2013 Creative Tracks presented the first re-Verse Showcase, a youth arts event for the Logan community.

“reVerse” was the inaugural Hip Hop and arts showcase for Logan, delivered through the Creative Tracks program by Human Ventures. reVerse is about reversing perceptions of the negative images in Logan and re-Versing, re-Writing and re-Telling these stories to showcase positivity through the voice of local young people. Our focus is showcasing and promoting young creatives who are busy talking and sharing their ideas, for their own, and the community’s positive future. This was the first re-Verse Showcase, the first of many.

This showcase was the culmination of weekly workshops delivered in Logan through Creative Tracks since March 2013. It represents an opportunity to share the outcomes of these workshops and to promote the talent and skills of the young people in the region. A young lady by the name of Leyar Dirie who has attended the weekly Creative Tracks workshops in Logan performed alongside her facilitator Alicia Mellor for the very first time to a public audience. She gave an outstanding performance that was enjoyed by all.

The event also included performances by established and emerging Hip Hop and RnB artists from Logan and Brisbane; creative arts facilitators from around Brisbane and Logan delivering workshops in skate art, badge making, mural painting, basketball, skate tricks, circus, dance, beat making, beatbox and digital stories; stalls by local creative businesses and community service providers; catering by local agencies; vox pops and interviews with young people.  An Elders afternoon tea was attended by many of the local Logan Elders who commented that the event was a great success in promoting positivity within the community.

Representatives from other local agencies also attended and were impressed with event and would like to partner with Creative Tracks in the future to deliver more events for Young people in Logan.

monthly average for fire alarms sounded in fault in our building

We have quite a special fire alarm in our building which requires our attention for no good reason on a regular basis. We're quite concerned about a potential 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' situation some day.
