In October 2009, the Queensland State Government banned skateboarding on roads after dark.

The stated purpose of the ban was to increase levels of “safety”, “common courtesy” and “common sense”.

In the context of climate change and childhood obesity is an ‘active sport’ curfew a smart decision?

With almost no skateboarding fatalities in the past 10 years and the health of kids declining, the ban seems misplaced… our kids can either skate, or die… slowly!
