Gold Star for Brisbane City Council and Human

bcc_goldstarHuman  recently finalised the last peice of collateral for the Gold Star project. Gold Star is an initiative of Brisbane City Council Libraries which aims to encourage and develop enthusiastic reading habits for young children.

Brisbane City Council Libraries approached Human requiring a comprehensive marketing campaign, rebranding and refreshed look that maintained its current identity but enhanced it’s appeal. Human developed a strategy focused on creating a consistent, exciting and contemporary array of imagery with the goal of appealing to a diverse range of young children, parents and library staff.

Creative development involved character design, illustration, layout and logo design. The marketing collateral has been in Libraries for approximately 3 months now and consists of posters, stickers, tattoos, activity books, bookmarks and cardboard cutouts of the children’s favourite characters.

To date, 5600 children have joined the project and participants have been giving it rave reviews.

Unsurprisingly people with tertiary qualifications are among the most likely to read frequently, the current percentage of children reading for pleasure is approximately 74 per cent [1].

The team at Human enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to a program that encourages reading among future generations.
