Creative Pathways: 2013 Shockwave Dates Revealed!

Just two months after the wrap up of a highly successful 2012 event we are pleased to announce that next year’s Shockwave Festival will be held on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th May 2013.

The award winning festival will take place at Blackall Memorial Hall & Skate Park, Blackall, and will be run in conjunction with the Blackall Heartland Festival. The two festivals will share a theme yet to be announced.

The 2012 festival featured performances from some of Queensland’s best young and emerging talent including singer Chloe Tully and saw people from communities all over Queensland travel far and wide to attend the event and get involved!

Shockwave Festival forms part of a creative skills development program (Creative Pathways in the Central West) working with young people aged 10 to 25 from throughout Central Western Queensland. It aims to build young people’s skills in event management, production, marketing and creative arts such as visual art and installation, music, dance, theatre, photography and film.

The 2013 Shockwave Festival promises to be just as exciting as it continues to encourage young people to showcase their creative and leadership skills while celebrating self-expression and unity.
