Bonny Lawrence
Regional Program Co-ordinator – Creative Pathways in the Central West
Bonny is new to Human, and feels quite special because she is the only outback employee, so like Hannah Montana, she has the best of both worlds. Just that her worlds include living in a beautiful country town, and working for a great organisation like Human.
Bonny has participated in the Creative Pathways program for the past few years and has been involved in the last two Shockwave Festivals, helping out as the MC, and as a general volunteer. She was also involved with the creative workshops program in Blackall.
Recently graduating from Blackall State School, Bonny experiences the struggles connected to being a young person living in isolated places. This fuels her ambitions about wanting a career that helps to encourage and develop youth, particularly remotely based, to strive to achieve bigger and better things. Bonny feels a strong connection to Blackall, and wants other young people to be able to thrive yet still stay connected to their hometowns.
Youth programs that Bonny is already involved with in Blackall include Youth Bible Study, Sunday Night Live church with a difference, OAC’s Children’s Holiday Program, 40 Hour Famine, and Kids Club. She jumps at the chance to be involved in community events that benefit young people.
Bonny enjoys the dramatic based arts, and has been involved in several school and community performances ranging from the ever so classic ‘Romeo & Juliet’, to not so typical performances such as ‘Rapapunzel Uncut’ and ‘Kids in Space’.
When Bonny isn’t busy doing all these things she loves to exercise and play sport. She lives at home with her cat Milo, but thinks a puppy might be on the cards…. Milo is not the best of jogging partners.
Bonny is very thankful to the John Villiers Trust who made her position on the Human team possible.
