Administration Officer

As Human’s Administration Officer, Amida enjoys tipping and tapping on the Mac, rocking a great spreadsheet and the human support element that is at the foundation of administration.

Born in South Africa to a Greek Buddhist builder and Anglo artist mother, with a Rastafari partner, and being the mother of an inquisitive 3 year old streak of blonde lightning, she knows that there should be a place in this world for people of all walks of life.

Having migrated to Australia from Zimbabwe at 7 years old (with her parents’ promise the streets would be lined with sweet shops), she also knows that life is not all candy, and we could all do with a hand sometimes!

Amida has a visual art and fashion background and her interests include writing, photography, vintage collecting, clothing design, illustration and installation art. She is fascinated with contrast and juxtaposition. Her influences are as varied as vintage furniture, the natural environment, Tom Waits, old reggae records, animals, shiny shoes and bones – anything that stirs a little human emotion.

This combination of life and work experience meld to make Human’s philosophies resonate profoundly with her, and she (wo)mans the reception desk with much tea and pride.

Amida is one of the success stories of our programs, having risen through the ranks of our traineeship to become a permanent member of the Human team – tangible proof of our vision… “enabling solutions to enrich humanity” indeed!
